Greetings from our Club President!

Hello, summer! What a great start to what promises to be another fantastic year of Newcomers fun. I cannot believe that the 2025-26 “season” is over and we are preparing for 2026-27 events already! Time truly does fly when you’re having fun.

Let me start out by thanking our out-going Board members, Michelle Lackner (Past President), Rich Rawson (Vice-President) and Andrew Steele, who is moving from President to Past President. None of this would have been possible without them carrying on the vision of our founding members, and they have our lasting gratitude for their hard work.

This past season, we enjoyed regular monthly potlucks, breakfasts, happy hours and trivia, along with other social gatherings, such as Let’s Meet & Eat. We sat in a hummingbird sanctuary, pondered life in a desert labyrinth, and enjoyed a “wild” night at the zoo. We learned how to play Bocce Ball and Pickleball, as well as Putting Fore Fun and Bowling. We also went to concerts, movies, plays and walked the inns. We learned about the rocks and minerals that make up this Valley, and attended tennis, hockey and polo matches. Oh the friends we have made and the fun we have had!

Club members have called our group a “gateway” to what SCSH has to offer. We are proud of that, and will do our best to continue to showcase what SCSH and this Valley has to offer all of us, with good friends to share it with.
